Thoughts on Abigail? Is it too common? Too old fashioned?

Quite common and old fashioned but it's one of those names that wear well. I don't think you need to worry about it being too old fashioned because it still works as a "modern" name especially if you make use of nicknames.

It's not too common or oldfashioned for me. It's alright. Too stern and sturdy for my taste. Abby bothers me and seems like a dog name. I like Gail a lot, though.

I wouldn't say it's too common anymore. It seemed pretty common for awhile there in the 00s. I loved it as a teenager. It was one of my top girl's names for years and I would've used it. I guess I got bored with it, helped by how much I was hearing it by the time I was having kids in the later 00s, and it sort of fell off my radar since then. But I do think it's a very sweet name. I know plenty of Abigails who are my age (about 30). It feels youthful, but ages well. I think it has a pleasant old-fashioned feel to it.

Honestly I never cared much for this name. Also maybe it's because I don't really hang out with little kids that much but I don't seem to hear it a lot even though it has been in the top 10 for several years now.

Is it common, not as much as it was 10-15 years ago... It is old fashioned, but in that way that will be cyclical. It is a classic with many good namesakes.I really like it.

it's okay. It's definitely popular, and it's old but since it's been very fashionable for maybe 20 or so years, I wouldn't call it old-fashioned.
It's a bit heavy and fussy for my taste, though again, it's an okay name. I much prefer Abby.

I love Abigail. I love Abigail, Susannah, and Elizabeth together.
