I grew up with a girl named Brook and after over a decade of knowing her, I still could not get used to the way her name felt when I said it. I try not to be so blunt/negative, but, honestly, it sounds like the sound my cat makes when she throws up. Sorry. And Amaya has such a lovely flowing sound to it, it seems a shame to cut it off with Brook.
