Phoenix
What are opinions of this name. I am not entirely sure, I like the word but don't know how well recieved it could be as a name. Also would it be better as a girl name or a boy name.

It's pretty trendy IMO. I guess I like it better on a boy. I knew one once, a toddler who was very cute but very bossy.
I just think it sounds like a try-hard name. I like the image the word conjures, but it feels tacky as a name. Sorry :/

It's all girl to me. And it reminds me of a superhero.
It does remind me of a superhero or a someone with magical powers. I prefer Phoenix for a boy I think
Phoenix has been on my boy's long list for a good while. I find the name inspirational and it makes me think of strength and the fight of good over evil. I would definitely consider using it as a middle name on a future son, but I'm not sure about it as a first. Even in England I think the majority of people will think of the place (or River Phoenix) before the beautiful mythical creature.
Thats interesting that people will think of the place, because the name always makes me think of the mythical creature, which is why I like the name but also hesitant to use it as wouldn't want the kid teased or anything like that.
I absolutely love, love, love, love Phoenix! It's my second favourite boys' name, and is one of my oldest/longest lasting name loves. It has an amazingly magical, mythological background, and I really love that it has quite a soft sound, but still sounds masculine and works really well for a boy. If you haven't already noticed, I vastly prefer it for a boy, and whilst I accept and respect its usage on girls, I really, really don't like it on girls at all. Its increasing popularity on both genders has been the main reason I've started to doubt having it as the definite name for a possible future second son, but Caspian & Phoenix sounds so good, I can't let it go yet.
That's great that you like the name so much, I have always been found of the word Phoenix in relation to the mythical creature. I prefer Phoenix for a boy.
Caspian and Phoenix go really well together.

I used to love it for a girl but feel a bit ashamed of my previous adoration now. I like Nyx. Fiona "Fifi" Nyx? Heehee.
