To me, Killian sounds a bit violent. Maybe I'm just attracted to the "kill" part, though.

In English, my thoughts focus on the Kill- element, which I don't think is a good component for a given name.
In Afrikaans, the word sounding like Killi- means 'tickle', which also seems inappropriate.

I love Killian - and I am pretty bias.
My eldest son's name is Killian Heath.
We call him Kills or Killy for short. No one care's that its the word kill its just his name. He loves his name too -he thinks its really cool and unique.
We are Irish and German and Killian was our compromise (Cillian Irish / Kilian German).
Everyone knows my son too because he is the only one in his school with the name. I just have to say Killian and they know him immediately.
Again bias but he is adorable and his name suites him.

I love the sound of this name, however I prefer the spelling Cillian since the "kill" isn't so obvious.

I like it. Kill Ian. That's cool, I don't even like Ian.
I kinda like it for a girl too, although it is clearly a boy name. I mean, it's a slightly more homicidal version of Jillian. Not totally bizarre, right?

I'm very fond of Killian and I have been for some time; to me, it has the old Gaelic charm, with a twist of both mythology and modernity.

I just can't get behind a name which has the word "kill" in it...
