It would work; I just don't like it, personally. First, b/c it's the surname of a guy I dated in high school, and secondly, it's the fn of one of my DH's great-uncles. Therefore, my associations are that of surname & dated name (the other sibs are Harold, Elmer & Herman).

I adore the name Leland, and I think it works fine with Deacon, although Deacons isn't my style.
