I like it but.... I vastly prefer Eve.
Love this name too. We actually had Evelyn May / Mae on our list during our last pregnancy, but we obviously had a DS and one of DH's cousins used Evelyn May for their DD! I was so surprised they used the exact combo! The reason we were considering it is because that was the name of my maternal grandmother's younger half sister, who died shortly after birth.
I totally agree with Myosotis!

I've always thought it lovely, though I pronounce it in three syllables. Your Ev-lin pronunciation in nice too, though, here in America, I imagine you'd often need to correct. For me, it's a very warm, friendly, approachable name while also being elegant/sophisticated; I can easily imagine it at any age.
I'm not a big fan. It's very bland and blah to me.
I love Evelyn (EV-uh-lin), but it's becoming fairly popular over here.
I really like Evelyn. Vintage and elegant, but still with a bit of kick and personality. It's currently on my guilty pleasure list, due to popularity where I live, but that's just me being picky lol. Awesome name!
I used to really not like it, but it's grown on my a lot in recent years. It's nice. (It's usually pron. EV-eh-lin where I'm from in the US, though)
What do you think of the pron. EVE-lin (as in author Evelyn Waugh)?

I quite like it. I bounce between EVE-lin and EV-lin as my favourite prn.
