Lauren pronounced Low-ren
Recently came across someone who spelled their name Lauren but pronounced it Low-ren. Is this a thing? WDYT of this pronunciation?

That pronunciation comes naturally to me (in both Portuguese and Italian, the 'au' diphtong makes an 'ow' sound).
Are you surprised at the vowel sound or the way the syllables are split up?
I am used to the lau sounding like the word 'low', but the r being part of the first syllable. lowr-in.

Low-ren is hardly different from Lowr-en, which is the only pronunciation I've ever heard.
