Phineas
I really like the name Phineas, but I always thought it was pronounced Fin-AY-as not FIN-ee-asWould it be too difficult to have it the way I like it pronounced?

Yes, I can't imagine that anyone would remember that pronunciation.

I think it would be hard because of the popular cartoon Phineas and Ferb.

There's a cartoon here called Phineas and Ferb, so I think it could be difficult. Even with just saying the name, people might say, "Are you sure it isn't FIN ee as?"

I don't think it would be hard to get people to use your pronunciation until they see the name in writing. Then you have to go through the whole ordeal of reiterating that it's not FIN-ee-əs, it's fin-AY. It doesn't seem like it would be worth the aggravation to me and said bearer would have to go through that his whole life since Phineas with the FIN-ee-əs pronunciation is becoming more well known.

I like Phineas, but pronounced the way it should. I don't think it would be difficult to have it pronounced fin-AY-as because maybe most people don't know how it's supposed to be pronounced? But then....why would you want to pronounce the name wrong? Personally I would use the correct prn or choose another name.
