My niece is Miranda, although she's only gone by Mira. I like the name quite a lot. I don't like any of your combos though. I'd use Miranda Joy.

I immediately think of Miranda Lambert and Carmen Miranda (however, that's not a negative for me). I adore Miranda (unfortunately, dh doesn't). Personality-wise, I think of someone passionate. If Miranda were my dd, I'd call her Miri. I've already had this conversation with myself and Miri feels more natural to me than Mira (too similar to mirror). I despise Randa and Randi.Of your combos, I like Miranda Josephine best.BTW, my fave Miranda combos are: Miranda Juliet, Miranda Eve, Miranda Charlotte and Miranda Jane.

Thanks for your input! I thought more people would mention famous Mirandas such as:Miranda Hart
Miranda Kerr
Miranda Richardson
Miranda CosgroveThough a lot of you did mention Miranda Lambert and Miranda from Sex and the City.

I used to really like this name. the first thing that comes to mind when I hear it is free-spirited. But Miranda Kerr slightly ruined it for me and it also reminds me of Miranda Sings from YouTube. I've barely watched her but I find her style of humor super annoying. Mira is a cute nickname.I don't really like any of the combos cause I don't like the names so much but I'll comment on flowMiranda Edith- don't like the flow of the ah and ee sounds between the names.
Miranda Josephine- this actually sounds really nice. Not a big Josephine fan but Miranda makes it prettier.
Miranda Antonia- the double a in the middle and double a ending is too muck for me.
Miranda Harriet-it's okay, feels off for some reason that I can't identify.
Miranda Isadora- same vowelly, souble a ending situation as above
Miranda Jillian- flows fine
Miranda Lavinia- Actually like Lavinia, may be a bit over the top in this combo but it doesn't sound awful.
Miranda Ophelia- meh
Miranda Rosamund- this feels hard to say in my mouth for some reason.
Miranda Tamsin- not sure on the repeating "an", "am" sound. I would personally pair it with something short, one or two syllables likeMiranda June
Miranda Jane
Miranda Lucy
Miranda Care
Miranda Phoebe
Miranda Lucille
Miranda Hazelbut something tells me those may be a little plain for your taste.

No, they aren't too plain for my taste. That being said, the only ones I find that go with Miranda, imo, are Miranda Jane or Miranda Hazel. Well, Miranda Lucille goes but it isn't my style.

Miranda Kerr, and then Miranda from The Tempest. It makes me think of femininity and beauty and vapidity. That doesn't mean I don't like the name. I think it's quite nice, quite clean and simple but a little elaborate too, and it has a nice meaning. I like Miri, but not Mira as much. It's very similar to "mirror". What about Mirren? I love:
Miranda Edith
Miranda Josephine
Miranda Harriet
Miranda Isadora
Miranda Ophelia
Miranda TamsinMy favourites are Miranda Tamsin and Miranda Harriet.

I don't know any IRL. I imagine an Arthurian-era princess! The NNs are ok for occasional use. Miranda Josephine & Miranda Rosamund are the combos I'd pick from your list.

I like Miranda, as long as you wouldn't call her Randi. I LOVE Mira and Miri (in fact, I prefer just Mira to Miranda). I don't know any Mirandas but I think it sounds like a friendly name.Miranda Josephine is my favorite from your combos. Miranda Lavinia is also nice. The rest are a bit too much name for me.

I would never call her Randi! Yuck!

Yeah I agree, Randi of any spelling is terrible for a girl or for that matter a boy. Randy makes me think of the word and just seems like a bad joke. What about Andie / Andy / Andi?Mira and Miri / Mirie are my favorite Miranda nn's but I wouldn't be opposed to Andie.

A slightly crafty, but generally decent person. She has dark hair and blue eyes. Aquiline features, thin build.I think Miranda is a pretty enough name, but I like it better as a middle name. It adds style and flair to a combo, but it never seems to be sturdy enough for a first name. I think Miri is sweet and Mira beautiful, though Mira I think stands on its own.Of the combos you've mentioned I thinkMiranda Jillian and Miranda Rosamund are the best. They have good flow. Miranda Jillian is light-hearted, Miranda Rosamund regal.

I think of four people: Character form Sex and the City, Miranda Bailey from Grey's anatomy and two people I know.
I think it's an okay name. It's one of those I like it short period and then dislike. Right now I'm a bit neutral about it. I like Mira and Miri as nicknames, where I live "Mirre" is the most popular nickname.I like Miranda Ophelia and Miranda Josephine

Miranda from Lizzie Miguire. Also Francine Frenski for some odd reason....
I think a Miranda is head strong, tom-boyish and speaks her mind. She wants to be seen as an equal but also someone that no one would want to mess with.

Sounds like Miranda Lambert. I don't see anything wrong with the name.

I think of the Miranda rights, and then I think of someone clever.
It's a nice name. I've never really thought about it, but it's pretty. I like Mira and Miri about equally, they're both cute for a little girl but just adult enough to work for grown ups. I like all the combos but Miranda Jillian; I just really dislike the name Jillian.

First, the country singer Miranda Lambert. The second, Miranda from The Tempest.I think it is pretty, but not for me. Miri seems more natural to say than Mira for a nickname. I guess I'm more accustomed to seeing Mira as a name on it's own. :)Miranda Josephine is my favorite by pure sound alone.
Miranda Ophelia is very Shakespearean, and I must admit that I like it.
Miranda Tamsin is the most fun, in my opinion.

I like Miranda. I picture a really serious person. Smart. Kind of intense. I prefer Miranda without a nickname. Miri is cuter than Mira, which is miles better than Randi/Randy. Of your combos, I like:
1) Miranda Josephine
2) Miranda EdithI like Harriet, Antonia, Ophelia, Lavinia, and Rosamund, but not with Miranda.

I've never known a Miranda in real life. I'd like to, because I love the name. But because I've never known one in real life, my association with the name is the main character in "Dragonwyck." So it makes me think of a beautiful but naive blonde girl. I guess you could say that naivete is the first personality trait I think of. That might seem like a negative, but I still love the name.I don't find any of your combos completely ideal because I think Miranda would sound best with a one-syllable middle name. So although I really like Lavinia, Ophelia, and Rosamund, I think those combos are too fussy. I also really like Tamsin, but I don't like the repeated A sound in Miranda Tamsin. Miranda Jillian is a huge clash in styles. If I have to choose a favorite, it would be Miranda Edith. I'm not a huge Edith fan, but as a middle name it's okay.

Famous person? Miranda Lambert. personality trait: know-it-all-ness. No idea if Miranda Lambert is a know-it-all, that's just the vibe I get from the name.
I never liked it. Much prefer Amanda.
The combos are way too clunky and overblown and many outright collide their sounds. I love Jillian but would never want it stuck in the middle name slot to Miranda.
