I've been feeling similarly about Josephine lately, but when I initially listed Viola as my #2, I couldn't bear it. I guess I'm just a little irked by how difficult Josephine is to find a middle name for.
I'm happy you said August is distinguished - it's been my #1 since I was 14, now, I think. I can never bring myself to liking Abraham / Abram enough to use them as a full name for Bram, and there was a bit of a fuss when I asked about Misha as a full given name (essentially, I don't think Mikhail "Misha" would work well where I live). Gideon is another name I find impossible to pair :/
