Lachie for a girl?
My mate has recently finally decided on her new nn. Lachie. Her real name is Nicole and she found by saying her name backwards you can hear "Lachie" in it. And right now she prefers it to Nikki because she wants to be different. Even though it's a male nn I think it suits her quite well. What are your opinions of Lachie on a girl?

Lachie could conceivably be a nn for Lachina, so it doesn't bother me as a girl's name. It's a little silly as a nn for Nicole, but then it's no sillier than Molly for Mary or Peggy for Margaret, so it'll do!

I don't like Lachie for a girl all that well and I'm not quite clear how you would hear it when you say Nicole backwards. Nicole backwards is elocin and I would say that "el-o-sin" but perhaps that's just me! ----Betsy-----

We say eh-lock-in, so that's how we found Lachie out of it.
