I love the sounds of heaps of Irish names :D
One of our twins will be Maeve, and Enya is at the very top of my favourites list!
Saoirse (seer-sha) Niamh (neev) and Aislinn (ash-ling) are also huge favourites of mine!!
The thing about spelling though. If you understand Irish the spellings aren't weird or crazy at all. The 'extra' vowels tell you how to pronounce the consonants and that kind of thing.
BUT unless you're in Ireland most people just aren't gonna know. So the wise thing to do is to use an Englified spelling. Like if you're Japanese you're not gonna write your name in kanji and expect English people to understand it!!
