I like it. I guess. I had a best friend in sixth grade named Michelle, and there were tons of Michelles in school. About as many as Nicoles. Born in the early 70s. I think it grew up really gracefully (much more so than its peers Lisa, Kimberly, and Stacy). I lost interest in it when I became too familiar with the fact that it's a form of Michael. And also about ten years ago, I ran across a young Micheline (born around 1980?) and started to feel that Michelle really must be getting dated. But it's still a nice name, and I guess it's one of the only two syllable names I like that does not have stress on the first syllable.
