One of my very oldest friends is a Michele, and so is another friend (who is French), so I prefer that spelling. I probably would anyway - less fussy-looking.
Michelle was very popular here in South Africa in the 1970s I think, and - like Lauren and Lisa - there were just too many of them at once. I blame the Beatles. So, I suppose I find it dated and not as brisk and efficient-looking as Michele!
I knew twins once - Michael and Michelle. That was a bad idea. Nothing wrong with the names, but they're better apart than together.
