I was unfamiliar with the French pronunciation so I had to look it up. It is quite pretty. It takes some getting used to thinking of it as a girl name as I automatically think of St. Valentine, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work on a girl. Actually that seems to be the culturally accepted usage where you are. I'd give it a thumbs up.~Anna~

That's true. Valentine is a feminine name in France - St. Valentine's name is written as Valentin.
