How do you guys pronounce it? With an s like Elsie or a z like Ilse?
Where I live, it's the s version every time. And I don't like it much - too close to drab Elsie. It's not unusual to encounter Afrikaans-speaking Elsa people, so I would expect a mn like Maria or Johanna.
