Salka is a name we discovered through the Icelandic band Sigur Ros. They have a really beautiful song called Salka, which is also an Icelandic girls name. It's a Nordic and Slavic pet name of Sara/Sarah. Icelandic Nobel Prize author Halldór Laxness wrote a novel called Salka Valka (I haven't read it).
