WDYT of Jorja
I started loving this name today. I know my next daughter will be called this name. What do you think of it? Should I use Georgia instead?

Aussie? And a pron. possibility...
I think this spelling is popular in Australia- along with Taylah and Tylah (Taylor and Tyler said with an Australian accent).
Having said that (and despite Jorja Fox), with the growing influence of Spanish in the US Jorja looks a lot like it should be said HOR-ha. I'll leave you to ponder that...
Georgia's neat. Georgie Henley is the name of the little actress who recently played Lucy in the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe- her full name is Georgia, I think.

I have never seen the spelling Jorja used in Australia. Georgia is quite popular but the only time I have ever seen Jorja is Jorja Fox on CSI
I have a cousin named Taylah and my dad's next door neighbour's diaghter is Tayla.

Tylah is very rare in Australia. Taylah is used but Taylor and Tyler are more popular.

Though I love Jorja Fox and CSI, I much much much prefer the spl Georgia, and I think it's a very pretty name. :)

Definately prefer Georgia, because why misspell such a gorgeous name?

To be honest, Jorja looks like a dumb girl's name--like her mother didn't know how to spell Georgia on the birth certificate. It reminds me of a woman I read about, whose mother was near-illiterate. The woman grew up a Dorothy, but when she saw her birth certificate, her mother had actually written down something like Darthee. That's how the name sounded to her, so she sounded it out. Jorja looks like a Darthee to me.
Use Georgia; she won't look uneducated, then.

Word. Just because the actor's mom can't spell . . .
doesn't mean others should follow suit.
Georgia is a wonderful name.

I agree
At first, I thought Jorja was Swedish or something but it's just a modern English variant of Georgia! Ew!
Why would someone purposely destroy such a pretty name? And it does look illiterate...how horrible. I completely agree with you.

I third that.
Georgia (ONLY this spelling) is absolutely beautiful!
Would you spell the male name Jorj? No? Then please don't do it to Georgia, since then it stops being a fem. form of George imo and starts looking like a kre8tyv, rather illiterate-looking, rather tryndee-looking mess to me. Besides, Georgia's underused enough to not need another spelling to be unusual.
I'm sorry to be so harsh, but I really, really despise this so-called "spelling" perpetuated from pop culture. I hold the same dislike for names like Lorelai, so I'm not picking on Jorja exclusively!
Georgia's classic and gorgeous. Go for it! Or try another fem. form of George, like Georgiana, Georgiane, Georgette, or Georgetta.

Um, I personally prefer Georgia or Georgiana (nn Georgie)... I don't think Jorja will fit with the rest of your kids.
