Peter
Forgive me, I can't seem to find any place that is appropriate for my comment. Jesus did NOT build His church on a man, He built it on the truth and faith that Peter confessed. Even Peter reminds Christians that they are the church built on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets with Jesus Christ as the chief corner stone {1st Peter 2:4-6} {Eph. 2:20-22}If you will notice Jesus calls him Peter not Cephas. He establishes Peter as the first great leader of the church at Jerusalem and his confession of faith and that all subsequent true believers would give is what the church is founded upon with Christ as the Chief Corner Stone. Forgive me, I know I'm probably not in the right forum but I chose one that seemed to fit. God bless you!

It might be in reference to the info on Cephas.
That's what I assumed:
Means "rock" in Aramaic. The apostle Simon was called Cephas by Jesus because he was to be the rock upon which the Christian church was to be built. In most versions of the New Testament Cephas is translated into Greek Πετρος (Petros) (in English Peter)
