I was just thinking of this name, because I was reading "Bread and Jam for Frances" to my daughter, and Frances' baby sister is Gloria. I work with a Gloria and I also think of the character Gloria played by Sally Struthers on "All in the Family". It's not a bad name, not one of my favorites, but I could see appealing to those looking for some "new" old-fashioned names to revive.

My m-i-l's name is Gloria Jean. She goes by Jean which I don't care for nearly as much. I could see Gloria making a comeback. It has a lovely sound.

I like it, I can see it making a comeback actually.

Apparently this is crude slang for a anatomical body part (glory hole), but I had never heard of that before seeing it mentioned on another baby name board. Maybe I'm just not up on modern slang. Or maybe I'm just not disgusting, lol.

I like Glory. It makes me think of morning glories. :)

Gloria is very pretty and not used too often which is a plus. I like the combo Gloria Jane even though it's not too exciting.
