Re: Alice, Eloise, Phebe, & Sylvie
in reply to a message by Elle
I simply adore all of these! Phoebe is my favorite right now but I love all of them! Do you really like the spelling Phebe? I've been considering this because it's been used in so many place, in the Bible's New Testament, on my family tree, and now I'm reading a book by Louisa May Alcott and that's the way she spells it too! I can't decide which way I like better.I think any of these would go very nicely with Juliet & Isabella! I think I do like Alice or Sylvie a bit better with them but Eloise and Phoebe / Phebe are so nice too! :)
One thought, I think Eloise makes a better middle name like what about Sylvie Eloise, Alice Eloise, or Phebe Eloise? :)Image hosting by Photobucket

Actually, after reading your posts about Phebe, it's growing on me. I like that spelling because so many pronounce Phoebe, Foe-bee. And I very much dislike that. It's also in Shakespeare's works which I adore (as you can tell with Juliet & Isabella ;))Alice & Sylvie are my favorites too out of the four. I've actually am really liking Sylvie but I dislike Sylvia. I really like Sylvie Eloise. Alice would be Alice Matilda. ~Lisa~

Yes, see there's another instance where the spelling Phebe was used in classic literature, and what better guide do we have to see what names were used than literature and history? I am so close to believing that Phebe was the original spelling but I can't yet explain how the O could be added in there, but perhaps it is just our way with English to make things difficult that could be so simple! :)Alice Matilda is very sweet! What are your middle names for Juliet and Isabella?Image hosting by Photobucket
