I've never heard of normal people having "protection words" for names. That's really fascinating!
And I am very sad that Bingo isn't some sort of nickname. Is it supposed to be after the song BINGO? Or is it just a nonsense nickname?

I don't think many people nowadays know that "Nalle" used to be a protection word, it's more of a children's word for bear, like French children calling their teddy bears nono although the French word for bear is ours.
I would guess Bingo was chosen because it can mean "just right!" or "exactly!" The song about Bingo the dog isn't sung here as far as I know, although I think there are Swedish equivalents.
