Ivor, Hester, Keturah
My loves of the day.
I like John Ivor a lot. LOVE Ivor. Would use.
Hester Jean, of course, and Hester Marion.
Keturah... my dear great-great-great-great-grandmother, and favorite ancient ash tree (in the "Ketural Wood" [deep within the woods behind my neighborhood] I have named it).
Maybe I should consider Keturah Ash as a combo. Wouldn't it be cool to have the last name Ash? I think it would. I like simple one-syllable nature surnames like Ash, Pike, Crane, Brooks.

I do not like Ivor or Hester. Sorry nms. I would prefer Ivan or Hazel. Keturrah is very pretty. Even better that it has family ties for you.
I very much dislike Ivor and Hester. My sister's bf is named Ivor and he's lovely, and I've known a handful of people named Ivor or Ivo who have been plenty nice... but I just find the name unpleasant. Hester to me is aged, faded, festering, pus-filled, full of hay and pestilence, dead roaches belly up in dust, and very much makes me think of Hastur and/or the lovecraftian King in Yellow. Plus, the only Hester I've ever known was the uber-racist daughter of an uber-racist psycho woman who was in some cult and has legal previous for physically assaulting and stripping muslim women in public. Hester wanted to be an artist, wasn't very good at it (and is still trying to my knowledge) and has gone down the same route as her mother, physically abusing people who aren't 'pure'. So, for me, it was tainted from a young age, but I doubt I'd like it even if weren't.
Sorry if I went overboard with my distaste for Hester. Of course, our tastes differ.
Keturah is so lovely, though. It's gauche, blocky and odd, and that somehow turns out so charming. I'd never use it, but I do like contemplating it.

I love Ivor too, and John Ivor is a great combo.
I don't care for Hester. Sounds frizzy and aggressive to me. Marion Hester's not bad.
Keturah is pretty, and I like Ash in theory but Keturah Ash isn't the flowiest, and it's vaguely silly because it sounds like it means incense ashes. Yes I actually remember the meaning of Keturah, and that's weird so it doesn't matter. But anyway, I thought I'd mention it.

I love the combo John Ivor. I love both the sound of it and the way it looks.
I love Ivor and Hester Jean. Keturah I'm not too sure about as I've never heard of it before but it could grow on me. Keturah Ash would make a great book character!
I too love one syllable nature names My favourite is Pine, but unfortunately it has a rather bad meaning ("to suffer") :(
