Thayer
What do you think of this name? It reminds me of Thea/Theia so I quite like it for a girl if it was paired with a more feminine-sounding middle name. Any combo suggestions or such?

Bad on a girl (and not so great on a boy either).
Looks masculine,
Okay well where I live, we don't say -er properly. So in my accent, I read this as thay-uh. And as you say it is similar to Thea. So I personally would just go for Thea because it's much prettier. If you're saying it in an American accent, I would avoid it even more because it doesn't sound nice. It sounds like someone trying to say Taylor with a lisp
My immediate first thought was of Meadow Thayer--she's a teenage townie (NPC) in the Sims 2, which I used to play a ton. Thayer is her last name.
I really don't care for it as a first name, especially on a girl. As others have said, it sounds too masculine.

This is a last name to me, and it was the name of the School of Education at my university. I would stick to Thea or Theia personally.

The more combos I make, the more I think it sounds like Thayer, Firstname. Like if it were on a roll listed alphabetically by last name, or was a member of the armed forces Sgt. Thayer, Juliet

I think it looks really masculine. It even looks quite violent, maybe because of the similarity to "slayer" or maybe because it's a surname. Thea is SO much better.
With the Thea spelling, I like these combos:
Thea Josephine
Thea Jessamine
Thea Juliet
Thea Magdalene
Thea Caroline
Thea Olive
Thea Cassidy
Thea Rosalind

It's awful. Thayer thorry! Thayer you go.
I have to agree with the others that Thayer feels like a more masculine name for me. I do like Thea and Theia quite well, I'd stick with those personally!

Thea is very nice, but the fact that Thayer ends in er makes it feel entirely masculine to me. I don't like it for a girl, but you are right to use a feminine-sounding middle name.

The 'er' ending makes it feel masculine for me. So I agree that it would need a feminine-sounding middle name to work on a girl.
