Austin
I have never known anyone named Austin and I'm only familiar with it because I watched Days of Our Lives as a pre-teen. Now checking the popularity chart I'm surprised that it's more common than I thought! What does everyone think of the name?

BlechIMO, its a ditzy male name. It has no substance. It was one of those names that I feel was popular to the 90s and its dated.

My little brother's name is Austin, so I'm kind of partial. :)

I neither like or hate Austin. I'm neutral but highly doubt I'd use it.
I've only known one Austin personally and he's maybe 20-22 at least.

I've known a couple of Austins in my lifetime, but never too many to make it overly popular. I actually really like the name...have for a long time.

I find it boring. There were a ton of little Austins when I worked in daycare in the early 2000s. Which makes sense now that I look at the popularity charts and see that it peaked in the mid-1990s.

Not a fan. It just seems super trendy and unsubstantial.

I've known some Austins in my time. I have kind of have a negative association with it because an odd (and a bit creepy) guy who was in love with my friend has this name. If I just think about the name on its own, I actually don't mind it. It's kind of cool, I guess.

I've seen a few Austins. I think it's a decent name. I'm influenced by having lived for fifteen years in Austin, Texas which is a really cool city. But I agree with vigdis that it is preppy. It's sort of bland and surnamey. I imagine brothers Austin, Mason, and Dylan. Spencer and Chase, even. Sisters Chloe, Harper, or Brooklyn.

blechGod it's one of those quintessential "high school douche-bag" names in my area. I'd say it's just about as popular (and equally dated) as Dustin and Justin. The vibe I get from both Austin and Dustin is "try-hard cowboy" - like the parents thought, "we're midwestern but we want to appear more tough and southern so let's give out boy a real 'rough and tumble' sort of name" - but really either choice just sounds more rhinestoned than rugged

I know lots of Austins, both male and female. To me it's a pretty rednecky name.

I know like, 100 white people named this sad wince of a name.

I know at least three and know of several more. Not a fan due to the name also being the capital of Texas.

I've known one for sure but I wouldn't be surprised if I had met and forgotten more. It's a forgettable name. It's a place in Texas. I also think of Jane Austen. Ew.

I know a lot of Austins. Most of them are older than me or my age (20), but there are probably younger ones too.
I think of it as sort of a jock name. The Austins I've known have all been really athletic. One of them was a bully, one is nice but not very smart, and the others I can't think of right now. I think my brother might have a friend named Austin though (high school age).

I know twoOne is 11, the other two. I'm pretty neutral on it. It's not something I'd pick but it's not horrible. Just preppy.

I don't care much for it. I remember in high school I had a friend with a younger brother named Austin. He was a little devil child who always called me foul names, gave me the finger, etc. so that definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

I like it. My old boss had a son named Austin, and he was a sweetheart. Gave me a good impression of the name.
