BA—Evangelyn Rosemarie
My friends welcomed their first little girl yesterday! Her name is Evangelyn Rosemarie, Evangelyn being a combination of "evangelist" and her aunt's mn Lyn, and Rosemarie from her mother's mn Rose and grandmother's mn Marie. She has older brothers Prosper Leonard and Judah Koji. I've always loved Evangeline and Rosemary so I quite like their choice and I've always thought the boys' names were great. Any thoughts? Also born yesterday was another friend's first child, Ember Rose. AND it was a two year birthday for yet another little girl, Monroe Easter (baby brother is William Augustine).

Evangeline > EvangelynEvangelyn looks weird and off. Rosemarie is okay but I prefer Roslyn or Rosemary for Ros- names.Prosper Leonard is NMSAA. Prosper reminds me of the gold rush and it makes me think of creepy religious talking-in-tongues people. I'm not sure why. Leonard is dorky but I like the nn Leo.Jude is better than Judah imo. Koji is weird and I dislike its sound. Especially with Judah.Ember Rose is... mm, not unique, is the best way to put it. Ember is better than the tired Amber but it has a looseness to it I don't like. Rose is a filler. Together they're bland.Monroe Easter has no redeeming values. Monroe is all Marilyn to me and despite her surge of popularity lately (with everyone misquoting her and for some reason making her the poster child for beautiful woman) I still dislike it. Easter is a holiday and not even one that makes a good name. I like William Augustine, though. Augustine is nms but he sounds like a rich British dude.

I prefer Evangeline (I pronounce them slightly differently) but the fact that it honours someone makes it nice. Both names are very long, but actually they go nicely together and it doesn't sound over-the-top. I think Evangelyn is much better than Prosper and Judah.Ember Rose is a bit boring, it's quite a standard combo. Monroe is not my style as it's too masculine and Easter sounds a bit silly - especially for a child born about as far away from Easter as you can get! William Augustine is beautiful.

Evangelyn just has one too many syllables. Evelyn Rosemarie is nice and Angeline Rosemarie would be too. Its not a bad name though. I really like Prosper too.Ember Rose is pretty but wordy. I really dislike Monroe Easter but love her brother's name

I'm not a fan of it. Changing the ending makes it look very trendy. I much prefer Evangeline or Evangelina. Rosemarie is not my thing. I prefer Rosamund. Its not a terrible name. I definitely would prefer the combo over something else they could have possibly come up with, its just not my style.
Prosper is cool, but for me totally not usable and more of a mn slot sort of name. Leonard is so not me. I see it as a total nerd with hypochondriac tendencies. The Big Bang Theory character made it a little better, but not much.
I like Judah, though I highly prefer Jude. It just sounds so much more succinct. Koji reminds me of Kojo and Goji berries. Not my thing. Ember Rose is really trendy. I don't like. Filler middle name.
Monroe Easter is 100x worse. Monroe just makes me think of Marilyn and I prefer not to have the association of a sex symbol that was abused and died of an overdose with my daughter.

The thought process behind Evangelyn is maybe too close to my heart for me to dislike or criticize but I totally see where you're coming from! Also with Rosemarie and Leonard, I guess it's more about the people they're honoring with the name. (Rosamund is great, though! Definitely my favorite of the Ros- names, with Rosemary a respectable second.) I don't personally love Leonard but I respect people's choices for middle names. Within reason. ;)Ember Rose and Monroe, completely agreed!
