My cousin is called Alfie, which I think is cute, but I would prefer it if he was Alfred 'Alfie' so he would have a proper full name to use as an adult.
I also like Alfred 'Freddie'.
I am not that keen on Alfred without a nickname.

I like it. I didn't used to but it's a family name in my husband's family and I grew to like it through association. His grandfather is Alf.

I like it, especially with a nickname (Don't hate on me, but I LOVE Alfie! Freddie's cool, too.). I wouldn't choose it for my son, though, and the Dutch pronunciation doesn't appeal to me.
