I have nothing against lesbians, it's just that I don't want to automatically think of lesbians when I hear a name. It's the same as with Hannah, which always makes me think of chicken soup. There's nothing objectionable about chicken soup, I just don't want to automatically think of it when I hear a name. As far as the Hannah/chicken soup connection, it's a mystery and I don't know why I make that association, but the Leslie/lesbian connection should be very obvious, I would think. The first syllables of the the name and the word are identical---at least, they are the way that most Americans pronounce Leslie.
