Mariah Carey, even though I went to high school with a Mariah and I've heard of the name being used on several different people. The Mariah Carey association is still so strong. When I hear the name Mariah, I always assume the parents are Mariah Carey fans.

Mariah Carey, of course. I went through a phase as a teenager where I liked Mariah. Then I realized how lovely Maria is. Also, the h isn't as visually appealing.

ETA that my first memory of Mariah is the song, "They Call The Wind Mariah / Maria." I'm not sure where the song came from but I recall it being very pretty.

Black Maria (uses the old-fashioned English pronunciation mariah) - the traditional slang name for a police van (always black originally) arresting miscreants.

I mean, I guess I think of Mariah Carey, but I still love how Mariah sounds and I've known a couple Mariahs.

Mariah Carey is the only thing I think of when I hear or see the name.

Also, how much more I like Maria.
I once met an Amariah (female). Not really a fan of it either, but it's different.

That it's perpetuating someone's spelling mistake.
