For a girl, Cassie is a nn for Cassandra to me. I don't like most nn names because they restrict options: your daughter may like Cassie, but on the other hand she may prefer to go by Cassandra, Cass, Sandra, Andie, or another nn. If she's called Cassie she has no other options but to go by either Cassie or Cass.Cassandra Courtney is nice. I've come to really like some kinds of alliteration, like this one.
