Cassie or Cassandra
Replies
I love Cassandra because a "cool" girl in my 3rd grade class had it. You could always use the nn too!
First: I personally hate the name Courntey - it's EIGHTIES trendy and the 80s were not a good decade. Not to mention all of the Courtneys I met were blonde, stupid and cruel. They're what's known as "preppy" these days. You know - bleached, orange tanned and only shop at Abercrombie and Hollister? THAT is Courtney to me.
Second: My sister's name is Cassandra (w/mn Rose) and she frequently goes by Cass or Cassie and so that name I love. It's classic and beautiful - not at all a good fit with Courtney.

For a girl, Cassie is a nn for Cassandra to me. I don't like most nn names because they restrict options: your daughter may like Cassie, but on the other hand she may prefer to go by Cassandra, Cass, Sandra, Andie, or another nn. If she's called Cassie she has no other options but to go by either Cassie or Cass.
Cassandra Courtney is nice. I've come to really like some kinds of alliteration, like this one.

Cassie and Cassandra are both nice but I prefer Cassie. Either would work with Courtney but Cassie and Courtney are more "matching". Cassandra nn Cassie and Courtney might be better than Cassie and Courtney since Cassandra isn't as similar to Courtney as Cassie is. Then again, it might not really matter if she always went by Cassie anyways. Most people don't like sibling names that are similar, but I don't think that it's a big deal. It might be more confusing (Cassie might be called Courtney and vice versa), but they aren't incredibly close names. People might be less likely to confuse the names Cassandra and Courtney though. Hopefully, that made sense.

Cassie is my name so I like that more but I'm biased. Its not short for Cassandra or anything. I prefer Cassie coz I think Cassandra is too posh sounding (for me anyway). My parents named me just Cassie coz they thought if I was named Cassandra everyone would just end up calling me Cassie anyway. My full name is Cassie Anne. ;)

I think of Cassie as a nn for Cassandra.
Don't like either one paired with Courtney. Too much alliteration.
