I'm from the Midwest, and it does seem strange to me, but it also feels more Polish than Russian, and my area has a large Polish-American community (but more third/ fourth generation by now). The Polish center is Pulaski, named after Kazimierz Pulaski, the Pole turn general in the Continental Army during the Revolution, so I think of him when I see/ hear the name.

Ah! Good to know. There's a Pulaski, Virginia... that's the only Pulaski I really know.I still think Kasimir is a neat name. He could stand out and wow people with it! :D
