Kinneret / Kineret
Can anyone tell me how to pronounce Kinneret? Is it used exclusively for girls in Israel, or do parents of little boys use it as well? I'm fascinated with it at the moment. A harp shaped lake in Israel -- neat.
I love the look of it, so different. What do you think of it? I've come up with the combo Barbara Kinneret even though I'm not sure where the stress lies in the mn. Can you come up with any other combos? Thanks!

I've always thought it was KIN-eh-ret (which, granted, makes no phonetic sense in Hebrew so I don't know why I though that), which I loved. I'm going to have to ponder kee-NEHR-et. I think I'll like it, but it'll take some adjusting. Right now it doesn't sound like a name to me.
I do think it's best suited for the middle outside of Israel. I'm afraid there is nothing on this earth that can make me like Barbara, though.
Suggestions (I may have gotten a bit carried away):
Grace Kinneret
Eva Kinneret
Eve Kinneret
Sophia Kinneret
Lila Kinneret
Aviva Kinneret (ooh, I love this, actually)
Maya Kinneret
Maayan Kinneret
Lucy Kinneret
Hope Kinneret --I usually prefer Hope in the middle but for some reason I'm digging this today.
Adelaide Kinneret
Adele Kinneret
Adela Kinneret
Bronwen Kinneret
Dalia Kinneret
Eleanor Kinneret
Elena Kinneret
Emmeline Kinneret
Elisheva Kinneret

Here's the pronunciation of Kineret in Hebrew: http://www.forvo.com/word/kineret/. I have no idea about usage on boys.
I love it! I've been lobbying for it to be added to the database and I'm very happy to see someone else likes it.
Love Barbara Kinneret, it's a middle name I'd actually use with Barbara if we used middle names. Also love Barbara Keshet.
How about:
Magdalena Kinneret
Sofia Kinneret
Josipa Kinneret
Zoya Kinneret
Phillipa Kinneret
Peony Kinneret
Olivia Kinneret
Eris Kinneret
Matea Kinneret
Wallis Kinneret
Renata Kinneret
Io Kinneret
Una Kinneret
Isis Kinneret
Naomi Kinneret
Fallon Kinneret
Kinneret Poppy
Kinneret Molly
Kinneret Olive
Kinneret Beata
Kinneret Marina
Kinneret Dorina
Kinneret Sabrina
Kinneret Salome

Oh, it's even more beautiful than I had imagined. I was using a short "i" in the first syllable, silly me, not a long "e" sound. "kee-NEHR-et" is gorgeous. And I like the Kineret spelling better. But it's not in the database. Do you know which one is more "authentic" to the original Hebrew? Which one is more likely to be used in Israel, one "n" or two (assuming the Roman alphabet is being used, of course.)
Loving:
Magdalena Kinneret -- elegant
Sofia Kinneret
Josipa Kinneret -- zing! Josepha Kinneret too ("jo-SEF-uh")
Zoya Kinneret
Wallis Kinneret -- zing!
Renata Kinneret -- this is going on one of my polls
Io Kinneret -- fun
Isis Kinneret -- exotic
Kinneret Salome
Thank you, thank you. :-D

From what I've found it's usually spelled with two Ns in English, but have no idea about the original.
Glad you like them. I've added some combos with middle names later if you missed them:-)
Found this, so it's with two Ns:
