Simon
What do you think of Simon? It popped into my head earlier and I realized that I really like it, although I used to HATE it. Is it too "Simon Says" or Simon Camden of 7th Heaven to you?
What do you think these combos? Do you have any other suggestions? I like family names, but it isn't a requirement.
Simon John (John is my dad's name)
Simon West (West is DH's middle name)
Simon Clinton (Clinton's my g-pa's name, but I don't think it flows well here, WDYT?)

I really like it, but there are so many cultural references, like the Chipmunk and now Simon Cowell from "American Idol." :b But it's still very 'British' to me, and I think it would age well. :) The combo I like best of the ones listed is Simon West. It's the only one that flows nicely, imo.

I really adore Simon and am seriously considering it for one of my future sons! I never liked it either because of "Simon Says" but then I a character in a book I read was so nice, young, brave, and just sounded like someone I'd want to know that I started to like the name and to envision it on a little boy. Then I found out that there was a very prominent Simon on my family tree and I seriously started to consider using it! :)
Simon John is nice and so is Simon West, but Clinton doesn't sound right.
Some Simon combos I'm loving now:
Simon Andrew
Simon Douglas
Simon Henry
Simon Michael
Also what about:
Simon Westley / Wesley
Simon Domininc
Simon James
Simon Patrick
Simon Daniel
Simon Oliver
Simon Alexander
WDYTO these? :)
"That tongue of yours is hinged in the middle, sister!"

I love Simon. I'm not a huge fan of John, but they sound good together. Same goes for West. I get stuck on the flow of Simon Clinton, too, and don't think that's the best option.
Names I like with Simon include:
Simon Peter (though it's, ah, pretty Biblical)
Simon Lawrence
Simon Howard
Simon Christopher
Simon Abraham
Simon Daniel
Simon Wallace

Simon is on my favorites list, too. I like it very much, and I don't readily think of other things like that.
I have a hard time with combos, too, but of your list I like Simon Clinton the best. I think Simon is one of those names that needs a fuller mn to ground it. It almost seems like an adjective to John or West. The ones that I usually pair with it are Michael (after my future DH) and Philip.
"There is within me (and sadly I have watched it in others) a knot of cruelty borne by the stream of love, much as our blood sometimes bears the seed of our destruction."

oooh, how about John Simon
Do a double first name with it, that combo sounds very cool to me.
I like the name Simon on it's own, too. I think it's a very good solid name, I don't associate it with any of the ones you mentioned, not even Simon Cowell (of American Idol) came to mind until I really thought about it.
Good name!
Bonnie, mom to John (5/19/04), Max (4/15/05), & baby sister (edd 7/3/06).
