Re: Shira

It has a pretty sound, but also a slithery hissing sound, like slick nylon (sheer?) curtains. Also, reminds me of She-Ra, Princess of Power, who was big in the eighties for about five minutes.

LOL! She-Rah! I never saw He-Man and a loooooot of eighties Americana nostalgia until much later in life, due to a) being very much a nineties child and b) being British, meaning we missed out on some of that stuff at the time, or it was still the kind of 'so novel and American that it's vaguely expensive' thing... and that means that I only knew who She-Rah was when I was too old for it, so it was basically... cheese dunked in extra age-cheese for me.Makes me think of 'sheer', 'shear' (as in sheep) and Alan Shearer, English footballer. Not great mental images, especially together. It's also a little bit like Sheila, which I hate.Ultimately, I hate Shira. Sorry. I want to find it pretty, but I really don't. Each to their own.

Yes! It's the first thing I thought of except that ...while it was She-Ra in the cartoon, it does sound almost the same. Wonder how many other people would make the association.
