When my stepmother was pregnant with her first child, my father said if it was a boy he wanted to name him Tobin. Everyone's reaction was, "Like the bridge?" Now that I'm older, I kind of like Tobin, and I suppose if you don't know about the bridge or live near Boston, it shouldn't be a huge problem.

I'm not a fan, I just think of the words "toe" and "bin". It is usable though.

I like it. I'm not really a fan of Toby, but I think a Tobin is less likely to go by Toby than a Tobias would be because Tobin is shorter and a little more manageable. It works with a lot of different middle names.Tobin Jacques
Tobin Jack
Tobin Colby
Tobin Oliver
Tobin Peter
Tobin Anthony
Tobin Andrew
Tobin Andreas
Tobin Henry
Tobin Malachi
Tobin Micah
Tobin James
Tobin Jonathan
Tobin Derek
Tobin Vincent
Tobin Marquis
Tobin Joachim
Tobin Callahan
Tobin Gregor
Tobin Gregory
Tobin William
Tobin Malik
Tobin Silas
Tobin Alastair
Tobin Lucas

Yes, it's absolutely usable! I think Tobin is very nice for a boy. I like it with something longer as a middle name. Maybe Tobin Alexander. Tobin Amadeus. Tobin Emmanuel. That sort of thing.
