Richard
What do you think of the name Richard?

I don't like it. It's also distinctly middle-aged.
I like it a lot, and would like it more if there was no risk of nasty nns like Dick. And it wouldn't work with my ln. So, strictly a mn!
Underrated!
Well, dated and underrated. Sounds mature ... but still virile and competent, not effete.
I like it. It's a little generic from overuse. I'd like it more if it were pronounced RIK- instead of RITCH-. The -ard ending has no appeal for me at all. But, Rich and Rick are cool names. IMHO

Ugh. I don't know why, but I have such a strong dislike of this name. Not only does it sound dated, but it just seems like a sleazy, slimy middle aged man. A second-rate car salesman or something. It might be irrational, but Richard just bugs me.
I like it. It sounds strong. I used to think it was too 'old', like it would only work on an old person, but I think I started liking it because of "The Sword of Truth".
I wouldn't use it because while I don't think it's 'old' anymore, it is still mature and wouldn't fit a baby. Also I hate all of the nicknames I can think of for it.
Edit: It's an okay middle name. I might use it in a mn slot, actually. I have someone I could honor with it too --my previous babysitter's dad, who was the first person to talk about philosophy with me when I was a little kid :) Apart from my parents, everyone else assumed that 4-5 year olds were "too dumb" to talk about that stuff, so he was a very good influence on me.

It's not my favorite, but it is a nice, dependable name with several nns to choose from My favorite uncle was Richard, called Ricky, and a good friend of our family is named Richard. He always goes by just Richard (his dad was Dick) but his brother still calls him Richie...because he knows it irritates him.
I adore it, I know a man about 30 named Richard and he's so sweet. Great name, I'd use it even if it is an old lady name.
I always really like Richard! Until I remember I have a weird uncle-cousin-something named Richard. My mother's cousin's husband. Whatever that relation is.
If I heard of a baby being named Richard though I think I would be pretty charmed. Richard's gradually turning into a cool old man name like Arthur and Albert etc.
Like I am holding out hope that if the duchess of whatever has a boy they might name him Richard even though I know it's pretty unlikely. It's got some chivalrous romance to it. Prince Richard! It could be cute.
