My mom's name is Shirley and she was named after her aunt. In spite of being named after an aunt she loved dearly, my mom never liked her name. I've never been too fond of it myself. If it comes back into fashion, it won't be for another 15 years at least, judging from the typical girls' names 100 year trend.
