Seraphina and Seraphine
Replies
I don't think Seraphina is too much but it is a little more frilly looking than Serafina. Seraphina could also go by Seri or Seraph or Phina or Phee. I prefer Serafina because the nn's Fina and Fi / Fee look better to me, Seraph isn't as natural a nn for Serafina but it still works.
Seraphine is also nice but then Phina and Phee don't work as well as nn's but Seri or Sera or Seraph still work just as well. Seraphine can get away with having no nn's easier than Seraphina since Seraphine is a syllable shorter.

I love both, and I also like Sarafina. I think right now Seraphine is my favorite.
Seraphine
I prefer Seraphine, since it's a family name. My mom chose it as one of my middle names after her mother (my Granny). When I have a daughter...I'll likely be passing this name on.
I think Seraphina has been getting way too much attention lately. It's a nice name but soon it'll become the next Sophia.
As for shortening, it probably will like most longer names.
