Victoria
Please tell me how you feel about Victoria? I would not encourage any nicknames - maybe V - just "V" for short. top contenders so far Astrid, Erica / Erika and Victoria - out of these three names which would you pick? Thanks!

I love Victoria. It is sophisticated and regal and my first choice for a strong but feminine name. I don't like the nicknames Vicky and Tory. Ick! V is interesting and still feels strong and sophisticated.
I personally would only use it as a middle name but it is a lovely name. I would pick Victoria out of the three.

I think Victoria sounds harsh and sort of mean, and I've never liked it. It's icy cold. From your options, I'd pick Erika.

I'd rank them: Victoria, then Erica, then Astrid; Erika only if you have a strong connection to countries/languages that use that spelling.I would only consider Vickie as a nn - certainly not the ludicrously political Tory!

Victoria's a nice name, very regal but youthful at the same time. I reckon it would suit any type of person. I go through phases when I like it. V is a cool nickname, but my favourites would be Tora and Vicki. I think that even if you don't encourage nicknames, other children would call a Victoria Vicki/Vicky/Vickie, because it comes so naturally. I definitely choose Astrid - one of my favourites!

Victoria is my daughter's middle name. As a name I like it very much, however she was named for her paternal grandmother. My mother-in-law, of course, but I never knew her, she died young. As it's a middle name we've never abbreviated it.

Victoria is one of my faves. It's my second dd's name although she goes by her mn for the most part. Still, she has been called Victoria plenty of times -- sometimes at her insistence (especially at work). Had we called her Victoria, I doubt we would have gone with Vickie or Tori. I do like Toria or even Tora. Vita is cute as well.I much prefer Victoria to Erica and then Astrid.

I like Victoria, and it's my favorite out of those three names. I don't like Erika because it feels very dated.

I'm having a hard time choosing between Victoria and Astrid. Victoria is soooo solid and respectable, and I think anyone would be happy to be named it. Astrid has an offbeat, quirky feel that is almost equally good, in a very different way.Ah, maybe I would go with Victoria.I agree with another poster who mentioned that a vagina often is called a V, though.Erica/Erika is nice too. I like all your choices.

I love Astrid, so definitely my first choice. Victoria I sort of like, but I dislike Erica and Erika immensely, so it would be Astrid anyways.

I like Victoria. It has a presence without being harsh. But I don't like Tori or Vicky. V as an alternative nickname is a nice idea. Of your three choices, I like Victoria best.

Blaaaahhh...that's how Victoria makes me feel. It's respectable and classic and all that good stuff, but it's bor-ing. I would much rather be Astrid than Victoria.

I really dislike Victoria. It's just... overly grand in a tacky way. And "V" ... well I know a lot of people who call vaginas "Vs," so that's what I think of. I like Astrid most of your choices. Erica is too 1980s cheerleader for me.

Victoria is okay, but I never felt the love for it that everybody seems to have. It sounds pretty, but also kind of stuck-up and cold. I thik Vicki is kind of cute in a sort of girl-next-door-1975 way, but Tori sounds like a ditzy-mean cheerleader.
I would choose Erica.

I really like Victoria its a name with grandeur yet also has a homely down to earth feel about it. Victoria would be my top pick, then Astrid then Erica/Erika. I dislike Erica/Erika
