I have never thought of Holly as a Christmas name normally. When it's mentioned that way, it seems cheesy to me. Holly (the plant) has older pagan symbolism and isn't really to do with Christmas. It's as pagan as Rowan.

I have not met any women named Holly that I liked, so I'm not a big fan of the name. But I still think it's an okay name and I would probably really like it if not for one particular Holly I knew. It sounds nice.
