Marguerite = "daisy"
Margaret --> Marguerite --> Daisy
Even if marguerite isn't actually "daisy" in French (I'm not sure, but I feel like someone, maybe you, mentioned this before?) it's the logic of our misinformed ancestors. It may not make sense in reality but it made sense at the time.
