Noa?

I love Noa or Noah for a girl, unless you are Jewish it does have a little bit of a hipster or trendy vibe, but I don't think that is a bad thing. Truthfully I've warmed to using some "boys" names for girls like Dylan for example, so Noah isn't bad on a girl to me, especially since it is a unisex name. Noa / Noah makes me think of NOAA National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, which is a good association imo, I love NOAA educational programs on PBS and NOAA does good work. Noa does look a little incomplete to me, Noah looks complete so I slightly prefer the spelling Noah but I also like Noa and I find both to be useable.

Oh, no! Noah is too soft for boys?! I knew I should have gone with my #2 choice: Gunner Erecto.
:)
Anyway, I have a Noah, a boy, so that's obviously my preference, but I honestly don't care much one way or another about Noa(h) on a girl. I do like the Noah spelling much more than Noa. Noa looks incomplete and reminds me of the Loa--spirit intermediaries in Voodoo.
IMO, the biggest drawback for Noa-on-a-girl in the US is the popularity of Noah for boys. When I try to imagine having a name that's a homophone for a name in the boys' top 5, "It's popular for girls in Israel/Belgium/Spain/wherever!" doesn't seem like much of a consolation.

I agree, it would be tough for a female Noa.
I'm so bored of Noa popping up on this board. There's nothing horrible about it, but nothing interesting. It's a big marshmallow fluff. It's been discussed so much that there's nothing new or interesting on Noa-on-a-girl either. It's just meh.
Like Noah, it starts with a strongly negative NO! I would never consider either of them.
It's very popular at the moment as well in the Netherlands. I think it's a lovely name and I also never really warmed up to Noah as a boys name. If it was less popular I might even consider using it.
Noah was my favorite for a girl a really long time ago. I got lots of negative reactions to it, also on this board if I remember correctly, even though it's a legitimate girls name as well.
It doesn't sound masculine to me either. Noah is a legit girls name, it's even used in the Bible. I did some research on the name when it was a favorite. NO-ah is actually not use in Israel on boys at all, it's strictly a girls name. The guy with the ark was named Noach in the Hebrew version of the Bible. Noa is legit as well.
I prefer Noah for a girl. It just looks more complete to me. I wouldn't use either of them because I find the name too common in general but I'd like to see it on a girl.
Yes, Noah/Noa was the #1 girls name in Israel for a long time, I think it might still be #1.

I don't like it for a girl at all. I know it was originally feminine, but I don't care. Noah on a boy never seemed too soft to me- in fact, I think it's quite handsome- so I say 'nay' for a girl. Besides, the absence of an 'H' on the end really bugs me.
