Eugenie
What do you think of the name Eugenie?

It's never become popular, has it? In spite of the princess.
I'm not sure how to pronounce it, pehaps that's the trouble. Some say U-jeanie.and others, U-janie.
I've never actually heard it with a French pronounciation, it's not on the radar, here.

Some find it difficult to pronounce.
I prefer Eugenia though.

I do like both the original French and the "British French" pronunciations. :)
I think it is kind of cute. It is a little too nicknamey, cutesy for my taste.

Eh, I like it more than Eugenia, but I'm not a fan. I dislike Eu- name, in general, and Eugene, in particular. Eugenie never stood much of a chance with me, I guess.
It also makes me think of eugenics and engines.

I think of the princess, then eugenics. I dunno. I think it's kinda ugly but not in an endearing way, like Eugene is.
I don't like it, sorry. The "Eu" part looks and sounds unattractive and it makes me think of the genie from aladdin!
I like it, but I'm confused by all the different pronunciations. How do you pronounce it?
I prefer the French: yoo-zhay-NEE. It tends to be read as yoo-JEE-nee too non-namenerds here in the States, so oftentimes when I say it out loud I end up glossing it too sound like yoo-ZHEN-ee to try to ease people into the pronunciation. I think it sounds pretty either as yoo-zhay-NEE or yoo-ZHEN-ee.
I love Eugenie! It's refined but spunky.
