I love Alan for its sturdy, manly, no-nonsense, mid-century feel. I'd be pleased to meet a baby Alan, and I think it would stand out in a good way amongst the Masons and Liams. I dislike Raphael, so I can't work up much enthusiasm for Alan Raphael. I do like the idea of an uncommon or unexpected mn paired with Alan, though.
