Alan
I recently rediscovered Alan as a first name. I really like the simplicity and down-to-earth feel of it. I really like the combo Alan Raphael, common vs. unexpected. Thoughts?

I really like that combo. I just prefer the look of Allan Raphael or Allen Raphael. Since Allan is a family spelling I'd choose that.

Eh, it's okay. It doesn't really "pop", though.

It certainly is simple and down-to-earth. I find it a bit boring, but it's not a bad name. Alan Raphael is pretty good - although I really like Raphael, so I'd hate to see him lost to the middle name spot. :)

At first thought I thought "Alan? No, way too boring!" but as I sit here saying it, it is sounding nicer and nicer. I like it with Raphael.

Alan is very nice. I like Allen much better though.

I like Alan. I find it to be rather handsome. I'm not a huge fan of Raphael but it does sound nice with Alan.

Oh, Alan, how I love thee. It's so sturdy, yet at the same time, has a blazing core to it (IMO). Strength couched in simple sturdiness, I guess. Alan Raphael is lovely.

I love Alan for its sturdy, manly, no-nonsense, mid-century feel. I'd be pleased to meet a baby Alan, and I think it would stand out in a good way amongst the Masons and Liams. I dislike Raphael, so I can't work up much enthusiasm for Alan Raphael. I do like the idea of an uncommon or unexpected mn paired with Alan, though.

Alan is my little brother's middle name and my dad's middle name. I've never seen it as a first name, but I do like it. It has a nice ring, especially when paired with Raphael.

I think Alan has been in the doldrums for too long. It's rich in history and I think it deserves to be used on today's babies - Alan Raphael is a very handsome oombo.
