Love it!

I don't care for it. The sull part I associate too strongly with the negative words sullen and sully. And it's very surnamey, which gives me a snotty vibe that really turns me off. I don't mean to totally trash it - it's not a "bad name" really. I just personally don't like it at all.

I'm sorry. I can't stand it. All I see is "sully"--to defile, damage, or make dirty. I even know a family with a cute little Sullivan, and I hoped knowing him would change my feelings about his name. It hasn't.

It is really growing - as are a lot of surname-go-names - I'm not a fan of the nickname Sully, but I think it has the potential to be popular. :)

I like it a lot. It doesn't have nearly as trendy of a vibe as popular two syllable surnames used as first names. It has a more serious, mature quality than, say, Mason.

It's such a surname to me but along with Anderson I have a great fondness to it and enjoy hearing it used. I have some friends who recently had a baby boy named Sullivan and they call him "Sully". It is a bit trendy but I like it.

This is one surname-y name that I actually like. I love the nn Sully too. Definitely only for a boy though.

Sullivan makes me think of Sully which makes me think of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and the long-haired character named Sully. It's not a bad association, just one I can't get rid of. I quite like Sullivan, in theory. I wouldn't use it in real life, but if someone else did I wouldn't consider it a bad name.

Three cheers, no make that twenty-three cheers for Sullivan! My husband wouldn't go for it, but I love the name. And Sully as a nickname...awesome! I wanted sons named Sullivan (sully) and Montgomery (Monty). Swoon.
