I have a soft spot for Mildred because it was my grandmother's name. I realize it's extremely outdated and clunky, but... any ideas on some first names that could lighten it up? Secondly, would you resent being given such an unfashionable middle name or would you appreciate the meaning behind it? D: I'm just curious if Mildred could actually work as a middle name or if it would end up being one of those middle names your kid is ashamed to mention in public.
