WDYTO Gilbert?

I really like Gilbert and I definitely think it's usable.
I think it would be adorable on a little boy and it's handsome on a grown man.

I don't like it. It sounds like a jokey name to me, like something you'd name a pet or a comedy character. My only association is the film What's Eating Gilbert Grape?
I don't like it for personal reasons. I've known only one Gilbert, and things did not go well....
Ugh. I can't come around to this name. It sounds hopelessly dorky to me. However, I'd say it's usable.
Feel-wise, Gilbert has some mischievous charm but, sound-wise I can't love it. I like other "bert" names...Albert, Elbert, Lambert (adore him!) Robert, Bertram. Perhaps it's that Gilbert features two harder sounds with the "G" and "b", where the others combine softer sounds with "bert". With the "Gil" sound, I prefer Gilroy.
I'm not loving this one...
I would never want to use it, but it definitely has some charm. Fun without being geeky, old-fashioned without being totally old-man. I can see it on a modern boy.
