Irina
Pronounced ee-REE-na. It's the Russian form of Irene. Despite Russian names like Natasha, Nadia and Tanya becoming popular in the English-speaking world (and other places), Irina never really crossed over. WDYT of it?

I like it a lot, though pronounced eye-REE-na.

I really like Irina! I've been thinking about it a lot lately, so this is a timely post for me. I prefer Irene, though.

I like Irene much better. Irina is not as attractive to me whether you pronounce it the Russian way or like Eye-REE-na. I think Irene is very pretty, makes me think of clear, cool blue water.

I love it. I think it's beautiful, and one of my favorite names.

I adore most Russian names, and Irina is no exception. I'd use it on my own daughter, though probably as a middle name. I think it's graceful, timeless, and rare, all of which are fabulous qualities.

I like it a lot, though not quite as much as I like Irene. I know one little Irina who is about 5, and no one ever seems to have trouble figuring out her name.
